Jessi Kirby was born and raised in Mammoth Lakes, CA. She earned her BA in English Literature from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and went on to become a middle and high school English teacher. In addition to writing, Jessi works full time as a middle school librarian in Orange County, CA, where she lives with her husband and two children.

I decided I wanted to be a writer at age 8, when my class read Freckle Juice.
Judy Blume and Roald Dahl were (and still are) my heroes.
I didn’t write my first book until I turned 30, and I wrote it *because* I turned 30.
That book was Moonglass.
I believe in magic and the so-called impossible.
The Alchemist, by Paulo Coehlo, is one of the few books I reread every few years.
If I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life, that food would be tacos.
Say Anything will always be my favorite movie.
Post-its, freshly sharpened pencils, and blank notebook paper make me happy.
